Read me in Canto Planetario now/The Singing Planet. New International Anthology out from Carlos Jarquín in the Costa Rica.
Congratulations Carlos Jarquín! You challenged us poets to defend the earth and you got a fantastic response. Long live our beautiful planet and may your new song of hope and love resound loud and clear from the pages of Canto Planetario!
What Fred Johnston said on Facebook back in 2015 about 'Earth to Earth' after its arrival on the shelves:
Fred Johnson (Facebook 15/05/2015)
A very fine and beautifully-designed collection of poems by MATT MOONEY arrived today, 'Earth to Earth.' I confess a bias as I have written, with Patrick Deeley, a modest introduction on the back cover. These poems are marvelous by any standards, rooted in the earth, tales and memories but without the languorous nostalgia. Matt is a true follower of and believer in poetry as a distinct spiritual voice and reminds me very much of the late Michael Hartnett in some of his work. Published by Galway Academic Press, it is in paperback, ISBN: 978-9928-04-254-5, at €10. Great poetry from a true gentleman-poet.

Fíon na Fíliochta (The Wine of Poetry)
Beidh léamh filíochta ar siúl Dé Domhnaigh seo chugainn i Séipéal Naomh Eoin i Lios Tuathail.
Cúirt na Féile will bring together some of the most innovative voices in Irish language poetry from around the country together for a special reading in St Johns Church. Recalling the famous gathering of Irish language poets in North Kerry in the 18th Century - Cúirt na Suadh - this event will showcase old dialects and new forms, from Corca Dhuibhne, Donegal and Listowel.
The poets attending include Dairena Ní Chinnéide, one of the most important poets writing today in the Irish language, alongside two budding newly published poets, Dubhán Ó Longáin and Siobhán Ní Dhomhnaill, as well as Listowel's very own Matt Ó Maonaigh. Séamus Barra Ó Súilleabháin will be acting as 'fear an tí' for the event.
Míle fáilte roimh chách.
